How can laser take my pain away? – Gayle H., Kentucky
Pain in the body is a result of damaged tissue. Trauma (breaks, strains, sprains), repetitive motion (carpal tunnel, tendonitis), inflammation (plantar fasciitis) and degeneration (arthritis) are all examples of damaged tissue. Light stimulates damaged tissue to facilitate the repair process.
Our laser system (The Bioflex Professional System) operates within the “therapeutic window” on the wavelength spectrum. That means that the device is strong enough to deposit light deep within the tissue without damaging or destroying any healthy tissue that it must pass through to reach the point of pathology. The Bioflex system utilizes both super luminous Diodes and Laser Diodes to achieve the best possible results when treating pain and injury.
What diagnoses respond well to laser therapy? Steven J., Tennessee

Shoulder Pain – Rotator Cuff Injury, Frozen Shoulder
Tendonitis – Tennis Elbow, Golfer’s Elbow, Patellar Tendonitis
Sports Injury & Trauma
Bursitis
Wounds – Thermal Burn, Diabetic Ulcers, etc.
My sister was treated with laser in another city. It was not the same system that you use. A friend of mine even ordered a laser device on TV. Is there a difference in laser systems? – Billy S., Iowa
Absolutely! Most laser systems utilized within various clinics in the US – like all lasers available via mail order – are simple, inexpensive systems that use one or two "treatment heads" that are single diode or, in some instances, multiple diodes in combination on a single head. What this means for the patient is that every pathology is treated with the same protocol, with only time and frequency being varied, if at all. This represents a "one-size-fits-all" approach to treating a multitude of differing pathologies at different tissue depth. This approach is akin to treating a headache, a herniated lumbar disc, and an arthritic knee the same way.
The most critical distinction between all the systems is that the Bioflex System is infinitely customizable, allowing the practitioner to customize each and every treatment protocol to ensure that each unique patient gets results for his unique pathology. With Bioflex, we work until results are achieved rather than simply hoping for results.
How much do you charge for a treatment? - Colton M., Idaho
At Genesis Medical, our treatment fees are $40 per :30 protocol. The staff physician or Certified Laser Technician will advise you of your time of treatment prior to initiating laser therapy.
How many treatments will I need? – Mary M., Idaho
The number of treatments will vary with regard to the individual problem or pathology. Just as every medical condition varies so will the individual response to laser therapy. Most of our patients notice a change in their symptoms (lessening in pain, change in sensation or a change in pain location) within 3-5 treatments. That change is indicative of a positive tissue response and the pain associated with your pathology should start to decrease as the treatments are continued. Always discuss any changes in your symptoms with your laser therapist or the staff physician so that necessary protocol changes can be made.
Most non-chronic conditions can be resolved within 10-15 treatments. Chronic pain associated with degenerative conditions or failed surgical procedures may take more treatments to resolve completely.
Some factors that can influence the total number of treatments required are:
- Severity of the presenting pathology/injury
- How long the pathology has been present
- Patient age
- Overall health and physical condition of the patient
How often do you recommend being treated? – Jonathon J., Texas
Laser therapy is a cumulative treatment process. Typically, two to three treatments per week are recommended for the first few weeks. Subsequent treatments will be scheduled in accordance to improvement or plateau. Again, patient circumstances will dictate treatment schedule.
Will my insurance cover this? – Wayne H., Indiana
Genesis Medical is an opt-out provider meaning we do not bill insurance. We bill each patient cash and provide a proof of payment. We encourage our patients to submit all receipts to their insurance for reimbursement and we will aid that process in any way that we can, but ultimately any reimbursement is the sole decision of the insurance provider.
Are there any side effects? Jackie B., Idaho
Unlike many pharmaceutical options, Bioflex is non-toxic; unlike surgical procedures it is non-traumatic and most importantly, non-invasive. |
